Multi-Phase Structure Control and Interfacial Investigation of TiB2/Hypereutectic Al-Si Alloy

The effect of the distribution primary phase Si and TiB2 particles in hypereutectic Al-Si alloy was studied found to be influenced by cooling rate. Therefore, this article studies rate on multi-phase structure Al-20Si using a wedge-shaped mold. sizes, shapes, inside were observed through SEM. cracks nanoindentation technology, interface relationship between TEM. Finally, based experimental results, trapping mechanism for is discussed. results indicate that faster rate, finer more uniform size structure. mostly exists as individual particles. Moreover, pushing solid–liquid during solidification faster, resulting being engulfed phase.
